Pipeline Safety Survey Results

Below are some of the results for the pipeline safety survey that the Pipeline Safety Trust conducted from the end of July through the middle of August 2008. As of 8/20/08 273 people have taken the survey. We were asked to do this as part of the Pipelines and Informed Planning Alliance's (PIPA) work to draft a report to provide risk based guidance to communities regarding what they should know about pipelines when considering local planning efforts. This was a web based survey which was prone to all the statistical problems such surveys have. We make no claims about what this data may mean nationwide, or whether the information is statistically accurate for any one of the multiple groups answering. We did find some of it interesting.

This is just a sample of the answers to the various questions provided by different stakeholder groups. We have also provided some basic graphical representations of certain questions we found to be interesting. If you would like to see analysis of specific questions in a different way, or would like the raw data to do your own analysis, send Carl Weimer an email at carl@pstrust.org
