Call Before You Dig!!

Digging almost anywhere can be a dangerous adventure these days because of the many pipelines and other utilities buried around our homes and work places. Never assume that you know where utilities are, and even maps or drawings can often be off by several feet which is enough to get someone digging into big trouble. Activities like digging postholes for a fence or mailbox, or planting a tree, can end up damaging or rupturing a pipeline.

Because of the danger of hitting a pipeline or other utility, it is the law in New Jersey that anyone digging more than 12 inches deep needs to call the Garden State Underground Plant Loc. (1-800-272-1000) to have all utilities accurately located and marked. This is a free service, which is quick and easy to use. Make sure that you or any contractors working on your property have used this service.
